Cuánto Falta Para el 18

Privacy Policy — Effective June 2, 2026 (v1.3)

🔒 The app is free and supported by Google AdMob ads

Cuánto Falta Para el 18 (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is a Chilean countdown app to September 18 with local reminders, developed by Torhen. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App. Starting from version 1.1.0, the App shows ads served by Google AdMob to sustain development. The App has no user accounts and uses no first-party analytics tools. Preferences are stored locally on your device; data processed by AdMob is described in section 6.

1. Data Controller

  • Developer: Torhen (independent developer).
  • Contact: contacto@torhen.com.
  • App identifier: com.torhen.cfp18.app on Google Play.

2. Information the App Handles Locally

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device via local storage:

  • Countdown preferences: mode (exact September 18 or Monday of the week containing the 18th) and time base (device or Chile).
  • Reminder preferences: frequency and time you configure.
  • Custom events: name and date you add yourself.

The developer does not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera, or browsing history. We do not send those data to a developer-owned server: the App runs without a developer backend.

3. How We Use Your Local Data

  • Local preferences are used only to remember your configuration when you open the App.
  • Reminders are used exclusively to notify you of how long is left until your target date.
  • The App does not send your preferences or custom events to any server.

4. Notification Permission

The App requests permission to send local notifications when you enable reminders. Notifications are generated and triggered entirely on your device, with no intermediaries. You can revoke the permission at any time from your device Settings.

5. Advertising ID Permission (AD_ID)

Starting from version 1.1.0, the App declares the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission. This permission allows Google AdMob to access your device's Android Advertising ID. This identifier is resettable; you can reset or opt out from Settings → Google → Ads.

6. Ads and Data Shared with Google AdMob

The App displays ads using the Google AdMob SDK. To serve ads, AdMob processes the following data as an independent data controller:

  • Android Advertising ID.
  • Approximate IP address and country/city-level geolocation derived from it.
  • Device technical information: model, operating system, language, network type.
  • Ad interactions: impressions, clicks, load events.
  • Fraud/abuse diagnostics and prevention.

AdMob processes this data under its own terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. The legal basis in applicable jurisdictions (EU/EEA/UK) is user consent managed via IAB Europe's TCF v2 framework (see section 7).

7. Consent (TCF v2 / UMP) and Opt-Out

The App integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). If your device is detected in a region where GDPR or another regulation requires explicit consent, AdMob will show a consent form before serving personalized ads. Your choices are stored on the device and respected across sessions.

At any time you can:

  • Reset your Advertising ID from Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID.
  • Turn off ad personalization from Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of ad personalization. AdMob will keep showing ads, but non-personalized.
  • Withdraw consent by re-opening the UMP form (in case of changes) or by uninstalling the App.

8. Data Sharing with Third Parties

The developer does not share user data with third parties. Google AdMob, described in section 6, is the only third party involved and acts as an independent controller under its own terms.

Any future addition of services (affiliates, analytics, in-app purchases, sync with a custom backend) will be communicated by updating this policy before releasing the corresponding version.

9. Storage, Retention, and Deletion

  • On-device data: remains until you change it, clear the App's data from Android, or uninstall the App.
  • Data processed by AdMob: retained by Google under its own timelines. For deletion requests, exercise your rights directly with Google: Google support.
  • No remote developer account exists, so there is no information to delete off-device on our side.

10. Your Rights

In Chile, Law 19.628 on Privacy Protection, and in their respective jurisdictions the GDPR (EU/EEA), the UK GDPR, and the CCPA recognize your right to access, rectify, object to processing, port, and request deletion of your personal data.

For local data: delete it from Android settings or uninstall the App. For data processed by Google AdMob: exercise your rights directly with Google as noted in section 9. For any additional inquiry about how the App works, write to contacto@torhen.com and we will reply within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

The App targets a general audience (PEGI 3 / ESRB Everyone). We instruct Google AdMob to flag the account and the application under mixed or adult audience policies, and not to serve personalized ads to minors when AdMob detects child traffic. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Security

Your preferences are protected by your device's built-in security (encryption at rest, screen lock). We recommend using a strong PIN or biometric lock to protect the information stored in the App.

13. Changes to This Policy

If we change how data is handled, we will update this page and modify the effective date at the top of the document. Published versions to date:

  • v1.0 (April 21, 2026): initial version, no ads or third parties.
  • v1.3 (June 2, 2026): Google AdMob integration (banner + interstitial) and UMP/TCF v2 consent. AD_ID permission. Clauses on data processed by AdMob.
